Kid’s room is very peculiar. Any other room in the house does not incur so many furniture displacements and interior changes.
Kid’s furniture must be multi-functional and may be able to “grow” with the child. As interests of the child changes rapidly, furniture must be able to transform too. There are a lot of pieces of furniture as tables and chairs, which could be regulated. For instance you can change the height and the angle of the chair or a table. Moreover there are some tables, which can be transformed into a desk or even an easel.
Kid’s furniture must have these characteristics:
- Lightness – in case a child would wish to shift the furniture himself;
- Fixity – Child maybe clumsy, so fixed furniture will save your kid from injuries;
- Ergonomics – Nothing should interfere the growing organism. Every element of the furniture must be comfortable and convenient it will prevent from curvature of the spine and other diseases;
- Ecological compatibility – Kid’s furniture must totally correspond the ecological standards;
- Brightness and Beauty – Child should love his own room and furniture, because the furniture is purchased for him in the first place;
Of course this is only the minimum of the kid’s furniture characteristics. Kid’s furniture demands a lot of money investing, but parents should do the best for their children. How to choose furniture which will correspond the demands, and which will be loved by the child? Firstly you should choose the furniture with your child.
It is better if you get a bunk bed or a loft bed. Even if you have only one child, you can take off the first level and have additional space for toy storage, or even a romantic place with fiber, which will look like a tent. Also you can place a desk or PC under the second level which will save a lot of space in the room. Moreover when the second child will grow up, all you will have to do is to return the bed to the first level.
If your child is in preschool age, then the furniture mustn’t overload the room, as for your kid needs more space to play. That is why shelves, wardrobes have to be little and convenient. A child must love his furniture and he has to have a real desire to play with it. This will make the process of tidying up the room easier. You can use chests for keeping toys. In this case it is almost guaranteed that the toys will be in their place, as your child will think that tidying up is just another game. There is a huge variety of different designs and models of kid’s furniture, but remember that furniture is purchased for the child, not for you.
